War on Drugs

We live in a world where drugs are no longer the dictionary definition of a substance which has a psychological affect when ingested.  Antidotes have been shown to no longer have a strictly negative meaning. Drugs now have a much more powerful ability to help people and create a better society.

In life now a days, drugs are now considered to be useful for medical usage as well. Take Marijuana as an example, the positive benefits that can help an ailing patient. When discussing the fact that drugs are bad, we need to take a look at the true history of them. The problem lays usually with the industrial process of the drug. Drugs and medicines alike have been around for at least 30,000 years already. Religion's around the world even use these medicines for ritualistic purposes which otherwise would be considered illegal in the US.

The fact is that yes drugs can be bad for people, but when being used in a safe form, drugs such as Marijuana, Ecstasy, and LSD could truly have positive affects for people. When reviewing the chart below, we can see that drugs are separated into 3 separate sections of Depressants, Psychedelics, and Stimulants. Depressives and Stimulants are both addictive yet are still legal. Whereas psychedelics are not addictive physically but are illegal.

So my opinion is why not? Why cant drugs to a certain extent be legal? The only problem is to what extent, and who gets to decide that? When will our society ever be drug free or at least dependant on its own without the stimulants to generate our world to what it is now?

Secret Life of Chaos

Chaos theory has always had a bad name, creating images in our heads of abnormal science. But there is a very interesting side to Chaos. one in which, scientists are just beginning to understand what it means. Chaos theory is able to answer the question of how we got here. As well, The theory of evolution which explains the diversity of life, not its origin.

BBC's Secret life of Chaos, takes a look into what chaos theory truly is. The theory that one thing relates to another, or as others call it the Butterfly Affect. Even though Edward Lorenz was the first to come up with the chaos theory, many people such as Alan Turing, Boris Belousov, and Beniot Mandelbrot had much impact on what we know today.

Alan Turing used a mathematical basis to understand biological and human intelligence. Morphogenesis a term he created described that all cells embryos are identical, but they become different upon creation. His idea of self organization showed the complexity of energies from simplicity. Committing suicide after having his work rejected showed how committed he was to his work. So begins the first ideas that came close to chaos theory.

Boris Belousov showed a real life example of Turing's self organization theory by mixing chemicals in a petri dish and let it be spinned. Gradually the colors changed from clear to dark and then back to clear again. This amazing discovery would be turned down by the mechanical universe. With this system, the Newtonian dream was shattered.

Edward Lorenz came out with the speech of the Butterfly affect, which would shock the world into awe. Beniot Mandelbrot realized that every aspect of our lives shows self similarity, As you look close and closer the original shape is repeated only as a fractal.

The fundamental ordering of the properties of chaos, would be able to predict anything. These simple rules to very complex systems would prove evolution and how man has came to be who he is today.
